At Quarry Bank, our non-core subjects are led by teams of teachers that have a particular interest and specialist knowledge in the subject that they are developing and overseeing. A member of SLT is present in each team so that there is a clear oversight in regards to curriculum direction and alignment to the school’s Curriculum Drivers. A governor is also part of each team so that there is an additional layer of support and challenge.

Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) is an important element of the Quarry Bank curriculum, however it is taught discretely using The Rigolo scheme and resources to support. This will be taught well and overseen by senior leaders. MFL is a topic that needs to be taught sequentially and to try to identify commonality with other subjects might compromise the integrity of the subject itself.
